Future Generations Canada’s development projects in Afghanistan focus on stimulating and encouraging self-sufficiency on the part of the Afghan people. Projects emerge from the needs and desires of the villagers, who are empowered to determine holistic, long-term solutions to fundamental challenges of survival. Villagers undertake the projects themselves with guidance from Future Generations Canada.

FGC encourages an holistic model of development in which economy, education, health, culture and the environment are all interrelated and therefore essential. Current projects fall under these categories:
